Well, how did we get here?

Jerry and I got together in 2009.  Jerry was the District Manager of Operations and Maintenance in the Rogue Valley office of the Oregon Department of Transportation (aka on call, all the time), I was working on trails and active transportation for Jackson County and serving on several statewide committees (aka, lots of evening meetings and traveling for work).  Clay was 6, Selena was 3.  We were busy.  We struggled to find a week where we could both clear our calendars for a vacation, and often tuned into work while we were away.  Sometime in those first few years together, we came up with a crazy idea to take a sabbatical in 2025.
